Privacy Policy
cmpl is a browser-based VHDL compiler and simulator used for a Digital System Design course.
Google user data
cmpl uses Google Sign-In only to identify you. We request the basic openid, email and profile scopes and access nothing else in your Google account (no Gmail, Drive, contacts or calendar). Google user data is used solely to create your account, show who is signed in, and let administrators approve or revoke access. It is never sold, shared with third parties for advertising, or used to train AI models.
What we collect
- Google account info: your email address, name and profile picture, received when you sign in with Google. We do not receive your Google password and request no access to your Google data beyond basic sign-in.
- Activity: when you sign in and out, open examples, create or import files, and run simulations, including the VHDL source code you run.
How we use it
To let administrators approve access to the app, to provide the service, and to review coursework activity. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Where it is stored
In a Supabase (Postgres) database. Only you and the site administrators can read your activity. Your projects are otherwise kept in your own browser storage.
Sharing and retention
We do not share your data with third parties, except our hosting and database provider (Supabase) which processes it on our behalf. Data is kept while your account exists, and removed on request.
Deletion
Contact an administrator to have your account and activity deleted.
